We are hoping to recruit about 150 graduates to join us in 2008. Of these about 40% will be for Engineering, 35% for Business and 25% IT.
When you apply you will be asked to choose between Business, Engineering and IT. You will then have some more preferences that you can register, or show that you are open to more than one, or any, of the options. Don't worry - being open to a number, or any, area won't be held against you.
If you are interested in both Engineering & IT, don't worry - we'll match your knowledge & experience against our requirements & we may well suggest an opportunity to you that could be thought of as either.
When you apply you will be asked to choose between Business, Engineering and IT. You will then have some more preferences that you can register - it is perfectly OK to just register one area of preference. We may still think that your application would fit another type of role too, but if that doesn't interest you it won't be held against you.
We have a lot of vacancies so experience tells us we won't be able to fill them all in one go - that's why we have closing dates on 18 Nov, 10 Feb and 29 June. But our roles will be filled on a first come first served basis, so apply as early as you can to avoid missing out.
If you need to contact us please call 01276 690204 or email graduate.recruitment.cp.gb@siemens.com.
We rarely offer sponsorship, except via the http://www.iee.org/poweracademy/
We usually look for at least a 2:2, the equivalent of at least 3 'C's at A level, and the equivalent of at least a C in both English and Maths at GCSE.
There are certain competencies we look for in all our graduates, such as Customer Focus, Problem Solving, Team Working, Communication & Drive.
And certain areas will require very specific degrees or modules too.
There's a section in the application form for this, so don't worry - all genuine reasons will be taken into account when reviewing your application.
The salary you'll receive when you join Siemens will be dependent on the type of role you'll be doing & the location that you're based in - so please ask for details when you're being interviewed.
Whilst you're working with us your manager will agree objectives with you and review these regularly. At least annually your salary will be adjusted according to your performance - again please ask for details of how this will work when you're being interviewed.
Most of our graduates join the business in October or November, but if you are looking to join at a different time mention it during the selection process - we may be able to accommodate you.
Siemens operates out of many locations in the UK - the Head Quarters are in Frimley, Surrey, and we have other major locations in Lincoln, Poole (Dorset), Manchester, the Nottingham area & the North East. Plus many smaller locations too.
Please ask about location during the selection process for more details, as some of our roles (such as Finance & HR) require a high level of geographical mobility.
The vast majority of our operations are based outside of London - a notable exception is our Media Technology operation which based next to BBC Television Centre in Whitecity.
For most graduate trainees there will be very little opportunity to travel overseas with work during their first couple of years. One of the major exceptions is if you join our Metal Plant business because installation and commissioning leads to regular, prolonged periods working overseas.
If you have a disability please let us know in the application what adjustments you require to take part in the selection process, and we will make all reasonable efforts to accommodate you. Likewise, if you are successful in the selection process we will then discuss with you what adjustments you would need to be able to work with us, and we will make all reasonable efforts to accommodate you.
For further details please have a look at our Equal Opportunity & Diversity Policy.

For the majority of graduate placements within Siemens UK you are required to have the unrestricted right to live and work in the UK. Therefore, unfortunately, it is unlikely that we will be able to offer work permit sponsorship to the majority of graduates wishing to join us.
There may be a small number of instances where we may be able to apply for work permits for engineering graduates to join us. Currently this is only for engineering roles and you will need to have a MEng degree from an accredited university. If this applies to you please apply via the Apply Page. If not, we unfortunately will not be able to accept an application from you.
In some instances we are able to consider candidates who already have a work permit with an associated time limit, as long as the finish date of the work permit exceeds the intended completion date of the graduate programme. This is only in cases where the individual can apply for a further leave to remain in order to continue employment. For example,
Please note we check the eligibility of all candidates at each stage of our process, and you will be required to provide us with all relevant documentation prior to completion of the final selection event.
The above restrictions may not apply to other Siemens' opportunities worldwide, so please check for alternative vacancies at www.siemens.com
Please email us at graduate.recruitment.cp.gb@siemens.com to check before you apply.

If you still experience problems in applying, please call the recruitment hotline 01276 690204 for further assistance.
Please upload your up-to-date CV.
Please only apply once per academic year. If you applied in Academic year 2006/07 (or before), but were unsuccessful, then we would be pleased to see your application again - we've often seen people try in subsequent years and then being successful.
No. Our aim is to make sure that our selection process matches the right candidate to the right role, so if we suggest something that you're not interested in then please tell us - if there's nothing immediately available we'll keep you in mind if anything else arises.
When you apply you'll receive an automated response to confirm that the process worked OK. It may then take us a little time to review your application, but if you've heard nothing from us within 3 weeks then please contact us on - 01276 690204 or at graduate.recruitment.cp.gb@siemens.com.
We've found that Psychometric Testing is a good, objective, indicator of how successful graduates will be when they join, and we use the on-line system so that you can make sure that you are in the right environment & frame of mind before you sit down to take them.
Yes. It's important to us that you get all you can from investing your time in our selection process, so if you would like feedback please ask. In fact it's important that you get feedback even if you are successful, so ask then too!
We usually will meet reasonable travel expenses, but please check when you are invited (before you buy any tickets) that expenses will be paid.
