1. What type of graduates do you recruit each year?
70% will be for Engineering roles, 20% Business and 10% in IT.
2. What are your minimum requirements?
We look for a minimum 2:2 degree in a relevant subject. Please refer to the vacancy that you are interested in for specific requirement details as these vary from role to role.
3. I'm not a recent graduate, but have some work experience. Can I still apply?
Of course, any work experience you have will put you in good stead for a lot of the graduate roles we offer. Depending on the amount of work experience you have gained since you graduation - you may be more relevant for an experienced hire role at Siemens. 4. How can I explain why my exam results weren't as good as expected?
On the application form there is a section for you to include any mitigating circumstances.
5. Do you accept graduates who have a Masters degree?
Some of our roles do look for a Masters degree. Please check the individual job description for the role you are interested in. Please note however that a Masters degree is NOT a minimum requirement for the majority of our roles. An undergraduate degree in a relevant subject is required.
6. I need a work permit - can I still apply?

7. If I currently work for Siemens - can I apply for a graduate role?
If you already have a degree and are still relatively near the beginning of your career you are welcome to apply for a graduate role at Siemens. You must howver, in line with the recruitment policy at Siemens, inform your line manager of your intentions. Please submit an application via the apply page.
8. I need to have some adjustments made to the process to be able to apply.

1. Can I apply for more than one role?
We recommend that you carefully consider the type of role you are looking for and only apply for a position that fully matches your requirements and background. Each role will require you to complete a full application form.
2. Why do you have closing dates?
Graduate roles are filled on a first come, first served basis. Once a role is advertised that is of interest to you, we advise you to apply as soon as possible. Please ensure that you check the closing date for your chosen role and regularly visit the website for new roles and updates.
3. What should I upload as part of the attachments section of the online application process?
We look for you to attach the latest version of your CV including a full breakdown of the modules and projects you have or are currently studying as part of your degree . Please ensure your contact details are up to date and that you notify us of any changes. Your CV will be reviewed as part of your application.
5. I applied last year. Can I apply again?
If you applied in academic year 2008/09 (or before) and were unsuccessful, then we would welcome a new application from you.
1. I've applied but havent heard from you. What should I do?
When you submit your application, you should have received an automated email to acknowledge receipt. Depending on volumes of applications it make take us a little longer to review your application. If you haven't heard from us within 3 weeks please contact us on 01276 690 204.
2. Do I need to fill in the application form in one go?
Yes, unfortunately our system does not allow you to save the application form and come back at a later date. Therefore please allow sufficient time to complete it in one go.
3. Why do you use online psychometric testing?
We have found that psychometric testing is a good, objective indicator of how successful graduates will be when they join our organisation. We use the on-line system so that you can make sure that you are in the right environment & frame of mind before you sit down to take the test.
4. I have failed the online test, can I re-take it?
No, candidates will only be given one opportunity to complete the tests. Please make sure you take the test in the correct conditions (e.g. quiet area without distractions, plenty of time etc.) and within the set time frame given to you by the recruitment team.
5. Can I get feedback if I'm not successful?
Due to the high volume of applications that we recieve it is not possible to supply feedback at application and testing stages. However if you would like feedback following on from attending an assessment centre we would be happy to provide this to you.
6. Will I get my travel expenses paid if I am invited to an interview/assessment centre?
Yes, you will get necessary expenditure reimbursed, but please check for details before you incur any expense.
7. What provisions do you make for people with a disability?
Please let us know if you require Siemens to make any adjustments to our processes, we will then make every effort to accomodate these.

1. What are the typical starting salaries at Siemens?
We are still determining our 2010 starting salaries, however most of our 2009 starting salaries were between £22,000 and £24,000.
1. Do I get a choice on where I'll be based?
Different opportunities have different locations, and it's important that you check these before applying. Some of the programmes will require significant travel - day to day or away for significant periods of time, and others will require relocation every 8 months whilst you are on the programme. Please consider your ability and willingness to do this before you apply.
1. What will the induction process be like?
All our graduates attend a Graduate Orientation Event where you will get to meet each other and start your networking, and find out more about Siemens.
In addition to that you will have a detailed induction in your specific place of work which will cover Health & Safety, IT equipment and - most importantly - what is expected from you.
